Create an ISO CD using Rufus

In this tutorial, we will show you the easiest and quickest way to create an ISO image. An ISO image is a file that contains all the data from a physical disk, such as a CD or DVD. This file can then be used to create an exact copy of the original disk.

To start creating an ISO image using Rufus, open your browser and go to ISO Recorder and download the plugin (power toy) for your Windows version. If you are using Windows 10, make sure to download the new version (V3.1).

Once you have downloaded the plugin, run it and follow the installation prompts. The installation should be straightforward, just click Next on all windows.

Now, right-click on any directory you want to create an ISO image of and select 'Create an ISO image' from the right-click menu. This will open the Create ISO image window. Here, you can add a Volume label name and choose the directory where you want to save the ISO image.

Clicking Next will start the creation process. Once the process is complete, you will see that the ISO image has been created.

Note that most CD/DVD burning software support ISO image creation, but if you are using Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 10, you may need to download a plugin to add this capability. We just tested this tool on the Windows 10 creator update and it works fine.

In today's world, most computers do not have a CD/DVD ROM anymore, but you can still use the 'ISO Recorder' tool to create an ISO image of your content and then use a USB creator tool like Rufus to burn the image to a USB drive if needed.

There are many occasions when you would want to create an ISO image. For example, when you want to create an exact copy of a disk, modify a bootable CD, or make backups of important data.
